Product Overview

  • ESP PVA Bags SOCK 60 x 220mm (15 Bags)
  • All E-S-P P.V.A. bags are coated with a neutral food grade powder to prevent them sticking together and to ensure they are easy to open.
  • The special P.V.A. film is tough & strong yet melts down without residue and most importantly, does so within the correct time frame. (Many thin film bags begin meltdown on descent and release the bait prematurely).
  • Plain Bags – are suitable for use with oil based liquid additives and flavourings.
  • Perforated Bags – have multiple small holes over their whole surface so pockets of air cannot remain trapped inside the bag. This makes them ideal for distance casting and ensures they sink rapidly in deep water.

Handy Instructions

  • PVA Bags create a concentrated feeding area. To ensure the rig works efficiently, you should always use a hooklink which is shorter than the length of the bag.
  • Place the lead in the bottom of the bag and keep the hooklink at the top. Fill in around the rig, keeping the lead in a central position. This will ensure the bag has a distinct weight bias towards the bottom and flies straight and true on casting.
  • Pear shaped leads will further increase casting distance, accuracy & stability in flight.
  • Leave sufficient room to twist the top of the bag together tightly and tie off with PVA string or tape.
  • The tighter PVA bags are packed out, the better they cast. Different bait combinations will produce different casting weights.
  • Larger leads and double bagging may be required for greater depths of water.
  • For short to medium range casting the hookpoint can simply be nicked through the top of the bag avoiding the centre of the knot.
  • For maximum range casting it is better to place the lead inside the bag, threading the hook and hooklength through the bottom.
  • Once the bag is filled, attach the hookbait and simply nick the hookpoint through the side of the bag.
