I've been using the two sizes of TDR reels since they were launched two years ago and have been very impressed with how well they've performed in a variety of situations. I use the TD-R 2508 for all my float and light-feeder work with reel lines from 2lb to 5lb, and the TD-R 3012 with reels lines from 6lb to 10lb. The winding power of these two reels is awesome and I've landed loads of big fish with them and worked them hard. The gearing is superb and even after all the abuse they've been given they're still as good as new. Without doubt, these are the best reels that I've ever used and for anglers who prefer double-handled reels Daiwa has just launched two new models, which should appeal. There are plenty of block-end feeders on the market but none, in my opinion, are as good as these, which have now been available for many years. They're strong, easy to use and very effective. I use all three of the body sizes and weighting combinations and I've had success with them on the Avon, Severn, Thames, Trent and Wye. My only criticism of these feeders is that, on some of the venues I fish, I sometimes need a lot more weight than they come with and I wish Drennan would produce them with leads up to 5oz or even 6oz!
