Product Overview

The humble smelt is firmly established as one of the best predator baits available over the counter. They have a distinctive smell resembling cucumber and stay on the hook exceptionally well compared to some other frozen sea baits. This makes them an ideal choice on venues where you need to punch out your baits at range. Depending on the size at the time of collection, you usually get four or five fish in a pack, although they can be chopped up to fish on smaller hooks if you wish.

Although every care is taken to ensure your frozen item arrives in a good condition, we ask that you read and understand the below before placing an order with Frozen products:

  • All frozen baits will be packaged securely in bubble wrap with gel freezer packs to try and keep them cool for as long as possible whilst in transit.
  • Delivery is usually the next working day following dispatch. We do not dispatch frozen orders on a Friday or near a Bank Holiday.
  • You will receive a confirmation email when your order has been dispatched so this will give you an idea of when your parcel will be delivered.
  • Please ensure that someone will be available to accept the delivery, we will not be held liable for spoiled bait if no one is available to accept it.
  • The order should be delivered 24-36 hours from the time the order has been packed. This means that the bait will defrost before it reaches you, this is perfectly normal but we recommend refreezing the item as soon as it is received.
  • If you have ordered dead bait, sometimes your bait may have redness/blood to it. This is common and to be expected. The bait is still absolutely fine to use.
  • You are ordering frozen bait over the internet which will take time to be delivered, the bait will not be as fresh as when it was originally packed from the sea, lake or river but it will still be perfectly good to use and will catch you many fish.

When you say 3 or 4 in a pack - How big are the smelts in inches?

Hi Keith,' They do vary a fair bit in size depending on the time of year etc. We don't actually have any in stock at the moment so I cant even go measure some for you.
