Product Overview

  • An all new eye-catching design that has been engineered to be reliable and extremely durable thanks to the incorporation of their fabulous Hagane gear, Coreprotect, and G-Free body! The stiff XT-7 body creates the perfect protection and support for the HAGANE gear, X-Ship system, and shielded A-RB bearings to work to their maximum effect and efficiency.
  • The totally new design provides excellent efficiency and strength because of the extremely durable HAGANE gear. The Coreprotect feature provides excellent water resistance without creating a heavy rotation feeling. There are three key areas that require protection; the roller clutch, the body, and the line roller.  Also featuring G Free Body technology which has been developed by to shift the centre of gravity closer to the rod.  By moving the centre of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
  • Hagane Drive Gear is produced by their cold forging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a long-lasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the product. Traditional die cast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.
  • XShip is a combination of features that work together to create much greater efficiency. By positioning the pinion gear close to the centre line of the large diameter drive gear, more power is transferred from the handle to the rotor. The pinion gear is also supported by two ARB roller bearings. This creates more stability.
  • G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the oscillation mechanism 19mm from the bottom to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
  • ARC Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. ARC spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.
  • CoreProtect prevents water entering the body, from under the rotor at the front of the body, and also into the Roller Bearing unit.
  • Aero Wrap Superb line lay is one of their hallmarks. Fed by Power Roller, the Aero system lays close, parallel coils (Aero Wrap) so line builds evenly on the spool and exits cleanly with minimum friction for longer, more accurate casts.

Do the Shimano Ultegra ULTC3000FB and ULT4000FB reels both have folding handles?

Hi Gordon, Both the handles on these reels fold down in the typical way when your packing them away. But they don't have the quick handle functionality if that's what your looking for.

Hi Joe, Those reels just come with the one spool. We don't stock any spares for Shimano products, but having had a quick look online there are plenty of places that do. Regards TackleUk
